One of the more famous adaptions, West Side Story, a musical set, among young gangs in New York city in the 50's, based on Romeo and Juilet, staring . Romeo Must Die, Jet Li's martial arts movie, again based on Romeo and Juilet. Whoever would have thought ?

Of course many of Shakesspeare's more well known quotes are still used, even today.

“This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.”

(Polonius, act 1 scene 3).

To be, or not to be? That is the question—Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, And, by opposing, end them?”

(Hamlet, act 3 scene 1).

“To die, to sleep –
To sleep, perchance to dream – ay, there’s the rub,
For in this sleep of death what dreams may come…”

(Hamlet, act 3 scene 1).

The following quote is used, but in a different modern day context.

The lady doth protest too much, methinks.

(Gertrude, act 3 scene 2).
